These presentations were carefully crafted and delivered by our academic partner, the Department of Computer Science of Durham University. They were designed to help researchers navigate the difficulties of non-deterministic bugs and ensure correct code is sought.

Mladen Ivkovic is a postdoctoral research associate at Durham University in the Scientific Computing Group of the Department of Computer Science, working on task-based SPH formalisms and the performance prediction and optimisation thereof with the Peano framework.
Joachim Jenke works as research staff in the High Performance Computing group at the IT Center at RWTH. His research focuses on debugging and correctness of parallel programs, especially detecting data races and deadlocks. He led the development of the HPC debugging tools MUST and ARCHER and is leading the development of tool extensions for the OpenMP and MPI standards.
Rudy Shand is a leading expert in high-performance computing (HPC) debugging and profiling, currently serving as a Technical Services & Support Director at Linaro. Rudy's main interest is in Software quality, Debug tools, Performance tools and Parallel programming.
Sean Baccas is a Research Software Engineer specialised in HPC, machine learning, and high-order discontinuous Galerkin multigrid solvers. He obtained his MMath degree from Durham University and has been highly involved in academic research, including the ExCALIBUR ExaHyPE project focusing on multigrid methods at exascale. He currently works at the UKAEA.
